The Prague Lace Set - Projekte 1

I’m excited to share my new lingerie set with you! I named it „The Prague Lace Set“, because I bought that beautiful lace on a short trip to Prague. I knew immediately, that I wanted to create a set for special evenings from it. That set should be delicate, beautiful and exiting, yet also supportive and of course comfortable. So I decided to use the strap details as contrast to the delicate lace fabric.

I planned to sew a pentagram thong for ages, so the design for the thong was pretty straight forward. Yet, as you can see on the sketches below, it took me a while to decide on the strap placement for the bra. (Please ignore my moderate drawing skills ;))

On the technical side the bra features a free standing bridge (inspired by EmeraldErin), a gothic arch at the center front and lots of strap details. The free standing bridge comes up very high in the front, so the cups don’t need to be cut to low and the bra is still supportive, even though it doesn’t look like it at first glance. The Prague Bra is made of lace (cups and front band) and power mesh (back band).

Below are some work in progress pictures with construction notes.

The construction of the thong was far easier than I expected. I wasn’t sure how to pattern the pentagram, so I chose the trying out method instead. After I’ve sewn the elastics to the front lace panel, I pinned the thong to my dress form. There I formed the pentagram from the elastic straps and pinned them into place. Then I sewed the straps together at their intersection points.

I hope you can take some inspiration from this set! Below are the pictures of the finished Prague Lace Set. I took quite a few, cause I love it so much! 🙂 The fit is of course better on me, than on my dress form, but there was no way of photographing this set on me without causing a scandal. 😉
What do you think of all the strap elements? Do you like it or is to much for you?
