This lace thong is perfect to show of these beautiful stretch laces, that come at a width of 50mm – 70 mm. It’s also super comfortable and has of course all the benefits of the normal thong.
This thong has no side seams, but a front and a back seam. As always when working with lace, we need to make sure, that the pattern lines are straight along the lace edges.
Step 1: Lay out the pattern pieces of the basic panty pattern (maxi) as shown and draw the lines of your thong pattern on top of it. Make sure, that the smallest part of your pattern has 2 times the width of your elastic. Otherwise, it will be difficult to sew the elastic.

Step 2: Mirror the middle piece. Eliminate the side seam on the lace pieces and straighten the edges.

Step 3: Finish the pattern by adding seam allowance

And there is you pattern for a beautiful and comfortable lace thong! You can either add a gusset or simply cut the middle piece two times, once from cotton jersey and once from your outer fabric.
And now to the last part of this series, which is quite the contrary to the thong: The high-waisted panty!
